XAVIER ALUJA PINTOR
Xavier Aluja was born in Tarragona in 1950. Even as a child he showed a special sensitivity for drawing and painting. His artistic training had the painters Vicente Segura and Jordi Serrà as references and teachers, although he can be considered a self-taught painter.
In all the artistic stages of his life, he has had a very personal style and character, intuitive and at the same time free, expressly wanting to be outside the currents of fashion and styles linked to the great schools of the country. .
Painting is the way to communicate your feelings, your vital perceptions and your emotions, without sometimes being held back by reason.
The artist has one of his favorite pictorial motifs in landscapes, especially those of his land that surrounds him, such as the countryside of Tarragona.
He considers himself an expressionist figurative painter, who uses a fresh and spontaneous brushstroke, he captures reality following the dictates of his heart, not his head, he does not paint nor does he want to paint what is seen, but rather he paints what could be, or what I would like it to be within his landscape poetry, where the simplicity, color and light of the Mediterranean that he introduces help to achieve a great final harmony of the painting.
He has been a promoter of multiple activities of a personal and collective nature related to art, such as artistic and cultural associations in the city of Tarragona and the south of France, as well as the organization of street art fairs and markets, such as the Plaza del Art in Tarragona, and the Art Market in Cambrils.
Awarded in multiple national and international competitions, and has held many exhibitions throughout his life, both individual and collective, among which those in his Tarragona, Altafulla, Salou, Reus, Tortosa, Cambrils, Valls, Barcelona, Terrassa, Granollers, Lleida, Valencia, Ceuta, Vigo, Castellón, Paris, Tulús and Montesquié.
